World-renowned relationship expert John Gottman set forth to understand why relationships don’t work, but for that he needed to first understand relationships scientifically. Gottman then measured the behavior, perception and physiology of couples over time to understand how love works. With that he was able to create equations for love and discern the mathematical dynamics of love. His science was able to predict with a 90% accuracy whether relationships would last or not. Finally, his studies conclude that the magic of love requires calm and commitment, which in the end makes the magic of great love a bit less of a mystery.

Как происходило падение истребителя СУ 33 и Миг 29 КУБР с авианосца Адмирал Кузнецов, Северная Атлантика на дворе 5 сентября 2005 г. Самолеты морской авиации совершают плановые полеты. истребитель Су-33 бортовой №82, заходит на посадку на авианосец Адмирал Кузнецова. Немного про саму посадку, на палубе крейсера располагаются четыре троса аэрофинишера «Светлана-2». При посадке самолетов тросы приподнимаются на 12 см. Посадка осуществляется на высоких оборотах двигателей самолета, на скорости около 240 км/ч у Су 33 и 250 и Миг 29 КУБ. 13 ноября в Средиземное море упал модернизированный палубный истребитель МиГ-29КУБР (корабельный учебно-боевой, российский) их в количестве 24 самолетов получили в ВМФ России годом ранее. In the spirit of the event, “TedxBGU2015: Breaking Barriers”, Roxanne brings our attention to language barriers. In a very interesting talk, she takes examples from linguistics, cognitive sciences, and her personal experience as an American living in Israel, to make a case for replenishing the world with multi-lingual people. Imagine a world without language barriers, and ponder whether the amazing ability that all children have to learn languages may be a helpful tool in conflict resolution.

Roxanne lived in Beersheva, Israel for six months to participate in the Overseas Student Program at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Roxanne was the winner of a campus-wide competition to be the Student Speaker representative at TedxBGU 2015. Her talk was inspired by her intensive Hebrew-language learning program (Ulpan) experience and by being part of an international student body that developed strong connections quickly with the help of a new common language. Exposure to the Hebrew language at a very young age through Jewish traditions gave Roxanne a natural advantage in the language learning process: an advantage which, through her debut-Ted talk, she wishes people will be inspired to give to others, simply by making a conscious effort to expose the children in their lives to foreign languages.

Father, author of the book Ugly and political advisor Robert Hoge explores why we all need to own our own faces. Sharing his own personal story, Robert examines, life, love, beauty, imperfection and pain in this powerful TEDxTalk.

Robert Hoge has worked as a journalist, a speechwriter, a science communicator for the CSIRO and a political advisor to the former Queensland Premier and Deputy Premier. While he never went far with his professional lawn bowls career, Robert did carry the Olympic torch in 2000. He is married and lives in Brisbane with an eleven-year-old daughter who thinks his Olympic torch would make a really great cricket bat.
