Altman received the U.S. Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, a National Science Foundation CAREER Award and Stanford Medical Schools graduate teaching award. He chairs the Science Board advising the Food and Drug Administration and is a founder of Personalis Inc.

Karina Chapa is a courageous bilingual advocate who proudly serves more than 160,000 bilingual students in deep South Texas. She is an Ex-A-Tec originally from Monterrey, Mexico. She is currently the Language Proficiency, Biliteracy and Cultural Diversity Director. She is also the Legislative Chair for the Texas Association for Bilingual Education and the Parliamentarian for RGV-TABE. She has dedicated 18 years of her professional career to empowering bilingual education students, teachers, and administrators in the deep South Texas border. She has run her signature Labs for leading global firms as well as startups from a variety of disciplines. Her clients include disruptors from the fields of fashion, technology, design, development, film, comedy and government. Priya is an expert in innovative facilitation and process design and incorporates creative visioning and movement techniques into her work. Her goal is to help people spend more of their time building things that make them and others come alive.

Priya received her B.A. in Political and Social Thought at the University of Virginia, Phi Beta Kappa, and an M.B.A. from MIT Sloan and an M.P.A. from the Harvard Kennedy School, where she received the Public Service Fellowship.

Once the only female member of the famous Zephyr Skateboard team from documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys: Peggy’s love of the outdoors inspires her to travel worldwide in search of good surf. In 2004, she founded the Origami Whales Project to raise awareness about commercial whaling. She has also developed the Whales and Dolphins Ambassador Program and led campaigns such as ‘Let’s Face It’, which petitions to save New Zealand’s critically endangered Maui’s dolphins and Hector’s dolphins.
