Герой фильма — ведущий российский микробиолог, ученый с мировым именем, доктор биологических наук Константин Северинов. Он популярно объяснит, что такое человек с точки зрения молекулярного биолога, и расскажет, как современная наука в недалеком будущем кардинально изменит жизнь человечества.
По мнению Константина Северинова, наступает золотое время для генной инженерии. Ученый сравнивает информацию, записанную в ДНК, с огромной книгой (объемом с «Войну и мир») и объясняет, как в нашем генетическом тексте появляются «опечатки» — дефекты ДНК, которые приводят к наследственным болезням. Новейшие научные разработки уже позволяют исправить этот «брак». Северинов расскажет, от каких генетических болезней можно будет избавиться уже в ближайшем будущем. Поможет в этом «генетический редактор», который ученые будут включать на стадии эмбрионального развития, чтобы устранить ген, отвечающий за поломку ДНК.
А можно ли будет не просто избавиться от заболевания, но и усилить умственные или физические способности будущего ребенка, чтобы он стал выдающимся спортсменом или ученым? Ответ на этот вопрос тоже есть, как и на многие другие: что записано в ДНК человека и как расшифровать эти записи с пользой для здоровья? За что отвечают гены, а в чем наследственность не виновата? Как стресс может менять генетику человека и почему потомки тех, кому пришлось голодать, живут дольше? Что могут показать популярные сейчас генетические тесты, и имеет ли смысл их делать? Можно ли выделить генотип целой нации? Почему против японцев можно изобрести генетическое оружие, а против русских — не получится?
Константин Северинов работает и преподает в двух странах: в России — в научном центре Сколково, в Америке — в Ратгертском университете, поэтому он в курсе ведущих мировых тенденций и может авторитетно говорить и о клонировании. Возможно ли клонировать человека и каким будет его генетическая копия? Можно ли использовать клонирование для трансплантации? Почему клонировать отдельный орган сложнее?
Сейчас основное направление работ лабораторий Северинова — исследование микроцинов и бактериофагов. Разработки группы Северинова помогут создать антибиотики нового поколения. While the research is still out on why this is happening; Ann Barnes outlines the different kinds of narcissists, and provides a framework on how to work with them (or not!). Ann began her legal career acting as a lawyer and business advisor for numerous private and publicly held companies. She specialized in corporate securities and intellectual property law within the entertainment and consumer packaged goods industries.
Her parallel passion for health and wellness led her to quit law and found and operate a number of superfood companies. Ann is a well-respected public speaker and health advocate and has written two health based recipe books: “Be a Better Being” and “Eat Super, Be Super”.
Over 6 years ago, Ann’s passion for plant-based wellness and entrepreneurial opportunities resulted in her funding, co-founding and acting as Chairman for the first Canadian licensed Medical Cannabis Company: Peace Naturals Project. A year ago she sold the majority of her interest to the medical cannabis public company.

Born to parents from two different continents, Mia grew up and worked in Europe, Africa and South East Asia. Even while helping her nuclear physicist father and geneticist mother at work, Mia had a hunch that there was more to life than science alone. Obsessed with finding the answer to the question of love she travelled through Tibet, studied jungle survival with Bruce Parry in Borneo, worked as a model in Paris, a journalist in Bangkok, and a human rights researcher in the Middle East, before going to live for a year at a Zen monastery. Finally, she found the answer — with unexpected results. Now a writer about spiritual life in the real world and training to be a counsellor, Mia’s work has been featured in the Guardian, the BBC, The Huffington Post, Time Out, and as Editor to the Buddhist Society. She has an MA in Comparative Literature, three post graduate degrees and a Millennium Award from Jon Snow.
